  • Two humped Bacterian Camel known as “Prince of the Gobi” is the most important animal to ride and transportation. This fascinating animal has developed unique qualities in order to survive in the desert. Bacterian Camels are herbivorous, ruminant animals that consume tender leaves. They thrive well on the salty scrub of the wild desert and well known for its survival ability without drinking water for long period. Camels are friendly animals and despite moving at slow pace camel can travel as long as 30 miles a day. This beautiful animal has thick, warm, long and shaggy coats in winter and is equipped for very extreme temperatures. They can withstand cold down to 40 degrees below zero. In summer they shed and can take heat up to 45 Celsius degree. Camel milk has a high nutritive value and is wholesome food. Known as "Desert Vitamin" this has a relative advantage over cow's milk as the cholesterol content is 40 per cent less than the latter.

  • Day 1.

    Nation's Capital - Ulaanbaatar. A professional Gucci World Tours team will meet you at the “Chinggis Khan” international airport and transfer to the hotel in the downtown of Ulaanbaatar. We will start our first day tour around Ulaanbaatar, the nation's capital starting from Sukhbaatar square. This square is the spirit of the capital and famous for its surroundings including Parliament House, National Opera Theatre and Cultural Palace. Our next stop is Zaisan Hill; the small hill provides wide open view of the Ulaanbaatar. We will visit the National History Museum; famous for its excellent exhibitions beginning from the Stone and Bronze Age, Turkic and Mongol Empire, rise of Buddhism and communist regime. After dinner we will have an opportunity to shop in the State Department Store. Peaceful overnight and relax in the hotel.

    Day 2.

    Ulaanbaatar. Today is a day to explore Mongolian Buddhist treasures in Ulaanbaatar. We will start from the Choijin Lama Museum. This attractive looking monastery was built in 1908 for the Choijin Lama, Luvsankhaidav, the state oracle and younger brother of the 8th Bogd Gegeen. The temple is preserving the elaborately decorated interiors and containing a rich collection of other Mongolian Buddhist sculpture and painting. It has several gilded bronze statues, impressive sculptures of the major Mongolian and Tibetan incarnations of the Buddhist deities, and a striking array of papier-mache masks used for the Tsam dance ceremonies. In the afternoon, we will visit Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, the palace known as the Green Palace. The palace was built in 1903 dedicated to the 8th Bogd Gegeen, the head of lamaist religion and last khan of Mongolia. Amazing bronze castings, silk paintings, paper icons, mineral paintings, god statues made by Zanabazar and his students is the main attraction of this Palace. Overnight in the hotel.

    Day 3.

    Bayangobi/Ruins of Uvgun Monastery. After breakfast, we will start to drive to the Bayangobi. It is a unique place with many different forms of natural landscape; combination of a Gobi sand dunes, forests and high mountains. Opportunities to hike in the small sand dunes and riding a camel. In the afternoon we will visit Erdene Khambyn Khuree which is 20 kms drive from the camp. The monastery is located in the majestic looking Khugnu Khaan mountain. Enlightened Bogd Gegeen Zanabazar, a religious leader, philosopher, artist and sculptor was founded the Uvgun and Zaluu temples for his religious teacher. The soldiers of Oirad nobleman Galdan boshigt destroyed the monasteries and assassinated the monks in 1688. Overnight in the ger camp.

    Day 4.

    Kharkhorin/Erdenezuu Monastery. We will drive to Kharkhorin; an ancient Capital of Great Mongolian Empire and main treasure of Mongolian Buddhism, Erdenezuu Monastery. Kharkhorin was established in the valley of Orkhon River in 1220. It was one of the stopovers of legendary Silk Road for 140 years. Kharkhorin played significant role in Mongolian history and was a capital city of Mongolian Great Empire until Khubilai Khaan, a grandson of Chinggis Khaan moved the capital to Beijing of Yuan Dynasty. We will see the 800 years old worshipping Turtle Rock near the temple. Erdenezuu Monastery – the first Buddhist monastery was founded by Avtai Sain Khaan, a descendant of Chinggis Khaan, on the ruins of Kharkhorin in 1586. The monastery is surrounded by beautiful looking white walls with 108 stupas. For centuries it was a spiritual and intellectual centre of Mongolia. The monastery has an extraordinary collection of Buddhist paintings, priceless religious objects, special dresses for Tsama religious dance and excellently made Buddhist iconography with true Mongolian and Tibetan style. We will visit horse breeder's family and experience making of airag, the Mongolian traditional drink made by mare's milk. Horse riding with Mongolian wooden saddles. Overnight in the ger camp.

    Day 5.

    The Ruins of Ongi Monastery. After breakfast we will drive to the Ruins of Ongi Monastery. We will see beautifully changing landscape from forest steppe into desert landscape. We will drive through the wide open land called Ongi steppe. In the afternoon we will arrive in the ruins of Ongiin Khiid Monastery. This monastery was built in the 18th century. The monastery was the main religious centre of South Mongolia. The monks were practiced Buddhist philosophy, astrology and medicine. We will visit the story telling ruins of monastery and small local ger museum up there and experience a stunning sunset from the top of a nearby hill. Overnight in the ger camp.

    Day 6.

    Bayanzag/Flamming Cliffs. After breakfast, we will drive to the Bayanzag known as a Flamming Cliffs to the world. Through the journey we will see arid steppe landscape with many camel herds and herding families. In the afternoon, we will arrive in the ancient red rock creation, Bayanzag formed 60-70 million years ago, famous as Flamming Cliffs named by Roy Andrew Chapman, an American explorer who visited Mongolia in 1920s. The striking red Bayanzag has dinosaur fossils, eggs and bones all over the place and neighbored by Saxual tree forests. We will have optional trekking in the surrounding areas or riding camels and overnight in the ger camp.

    Day 7.

    South Gobi/Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park. After breakfast we will drive to the majestic Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park where we will enjoy incredible “Yol Valley”. In the afternoon we will explore the valley. The valley is the unusual narrow canyon of a river that flows through the Zuun Saikhan Mountain. The sheer rock walls stand 200m and the canyon has stunning green meadows with thick glacier layer that is deeply set between the walls. During the summer rainfall water runs from the top of the walls forming waterfalls. We can trek along the canyon and may have an opportunity to glimpse rarely found wild sheep Argali, mountain goat Ibex and Yol Lammergeier. Overnight in the ger camp.

    Day 8.

    Ulaanbaatar/Departure. We will catch a morning flight back to Ulaanbaatar. We will end our unforgettable southern journeys by transferring to the “Chinggis Khaan” International Airport with professional Gucci World Tours Team.
