  • In 1206, a man known as Temujen was crowned Chinggis Khaan – “emperor of all emperors”. His mounted Mongol army swept out of the steppes of Asia in an apocalyptic wave to conquer two thirds of the world. Although he was a conquering emperor, Genghis Khan was also a supreme military strategist and clever politician. He was the product of a rich cultural and artistic heritage dating back 6000 years. Khentii aimag is the birth place of the great Chinggis Khaan. It is one of the principal aimags of Mongolia, which covers the lands of the Khentii mountain ranges, the Onon and Kherlen river basins. This place has many historic places of interest like rock engravings, ruins of 13th century town, Stone walls of the Kidan dynasty, Hajuu bulag and Uglugchyn walls.

  • Day 1.

    Nation’s Capital-Ulaanbaatar. A professional Gucci World Tours team will meet you at the “Chinggis Khan” international airport and transfer to the hotel in Ulaanbaatar. After relax, we will start our first day tour in Ulaanbaatar, the nation’s capital starting from Sukhbaatar square. This smooth square is spirit of the capital and famous for its surroundings including Parliament House, National Opera Theatre, Cultural Palace and House of City Council. Our next stop is Zaisan Hill; the small hill provides wide open view of the Ulaanbaatar. Then we will visit the Natural History Museum which is well-known for its precious findings Dinosaur eggs and bones. In the evening, we will watch fascinating performance of traditional folk songs, throat singing, beautiful melody of horse-headed fiddle, ethnic dances and arty contortion. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

    Day 2.

    Khar Zurkhny Khukh Lake/Bayangol. After early morning breakfast, we will start driving to the eastern direction of Ulaanbaatar to the Khentii Mountain range. On the way we will explore steppe landscape with many hordes of horses, cattle and sheep. During the lunch time we will reach Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Nuur. This place is famous for proclaiming of Temuujun as a Khaan of all Mongolian tribe in 1189. We will have a picnic lunch on the lake shore. After lunch we will explore surrounding areas of the lake then continue our journey to the Bayangol River. Orientation session for our trekking adventure. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

    Day 3.

    Khangal Lake. After breakfast we will start our adventure trekking in the Khentii Mountain Range. Today’s trekking distance is about 12km. On the way, we will cross the Bayangol River and have a picnic lunch in the valley of Khurkh river. In the afternoon, we will reach at the Khangal lake where will mount our tents at the campsite near the lake. Khangal lake is situated in the territory of Omnodelger soum of eastern Khentii province, at the source of the Khurkhyn Gol river at 1327m. The length of the lake's shore is 5.8 km and the depth of water is 2.4 m. The lake is refreshed by rain and underground waters rich in various species of birds such as Black-throated Diver, Black-necked Grebe, Smew, Black Capercielle, Demoiselle Crane, Mallard, Swan Goose, Shelduck and Black Stork. Vehicles and cook will wait for us at the campsite. Open-air dinner and overnight in tent.

    Day 4.

    Ruins of Baldan Bereeven Temple. After having early morning breakfast, we will start our trekking to the Baldan Bereeven temple for about 16 km. Today we will trek through beautiful small rounding hills with lush green meadows. Baldan Bereeven monastery is situated in the Bereevenii Khonkhor of the Khentii Mountain. The monastery was established in 1784 by a Mongolian noble, Daichin Jonon Van Gombojav. Bereeven (Baldan Braibung) Khiid monastery used to house over 8000 Buddhist monks. It was the most significant religious center of the eastern part of Mongolia, which was also visited by thousands of Buryat pilgrims from the north. We will establish our campsite near the monastery. Visiting the monastery and dinner and overnight in tent.

    Day 5.

    Jargalant River. After breakfast, we will start trekking to the middle Jargalant river about 12 km. In the fore noon, we will cross the western side of Jargalant River and have a picnic lunch. Trekking route will be in the valley of three Jaragalant River. In the afternoon, we will arrive at the middle Jargalant River and mount our tents. Then we will have an opportunity to visit deer stone which is located on the valley of middle Jargalant River originated from the Bronze Age. Deer stones are Mongolian ancient megaliths cared with symbols. The name comes from their carved depictions of flying deers. Archeologists have found around 500 deer stones around Mongolia and we will experience one of them. Dinner and overnight in the tent.

    Day 6.

    Khurkh River. Breakfast at the camp then we will head to the valley of Khurkh River. On the way we will cross middle Jargalant river in order to reach our destination - a square burials. Trekking distance of the day is about 18 km; a longest walk of the trip. Dinner and overnight in the tent in Khurkh valley.

    Day 7.

    Square burial/Khurkh River. Breakfast at the campsite, then we will start our trekking to the square burial which is located in the Khurkh valley for 12km. On the way, we will experience the way of nomadic life, nomads in the valley, hordes of animals such as cattle, sheep, goat and horses. Picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we will reach at the square burial and man stone from the Stone Age. Nomadic experience with visiting Buryat ethnic groups. Buryats share many customs with their Mongolians, including nomadic herding and erecting huts for shelter. Buryats speak Mongolian with Buryat dialects. We will end our adventurous trekking experience in the east. Dinner and overnight in the tent.

    Day 8.

    Uglugchyn Wall/Gun Galuutai Lake. Breakfast at the campsite then we will start driving to the Uglugchyn Kherem for 40km. Uglugchyn Kherem is a stone-wall of historic significance, which was built by the natural stones and without using concrete or clay. The wall is situated in the territory of Batshireet soum of Khentii province. It was built on the slope of the Daichin Uul forested mountain. Uglugchyn Kherem has heights in various sections of 2- 4m and width of 3m. The wall had two entrances in the southern sections of 3 km each. There are no signs or traces of any buildings in the inner side of the fortress. Uglugchyn Kherem must have been a defense wall of XII-XIII century archers. Then we will drive to the Binder Ovoo, a shamanistic stone monument of great significance, which represents offerings to the spirits of the land and area, is situated 80 km north east from the ruins of Bereeven monastery. It is believed that the Binder Ovoo existed since the times of Chinggis Khaan. The tradition of respecting the 'ovoo' has deep roots in the history of the Mongolian nomads. Visiting rock engravings that display various seal and stamps of Mongolian tribes in different age. Picnic lunch. Drive to the Gun Galuutai Natural Reserve on the bank of Kherlen river. Dinner and overnight in the ger camp.

    Day 9.

    Gun Galuutai/Ulaanbaatar. After breakfast we will explore the Gun Galuutai Natural Reserve, which is one of Mongolia's most wonderful and most beautiful lands including endangered animals such as wild sheep, white napped crane, white crane, whooper swan. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar and visit Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, the palace known as the Green Palace. The palace was built in 1903 dedicated to the 8th Bogd Gegeen, the head of lamaist religion and last khan of Mongolia. Amazing bronze castings, silk paintings, paper icons, mineral paintings, god statues made by Zanabazar and his students is the main attraction of this Palace. The rest of the day is for personal choices with last minute shopping and exploring the city. Overnight and relax in the hotel.

    Day 10.

    Departure. Our trekking adventure is now complete and we will end up our unforgettable journeys by transferring to the “Chinggis Khaan” International Airport with professional Gucci World Tours team.
